International Women’s Day
IWD 2022 Campaign:
‘Imagine a gender equal world, a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination, a world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive, a world where difference is valued and celebrated’.

International women’s day is the perfect time to celebrate the things that make us uniquely women, but also a time to educate people on the differences we face and how to solve them. It’s important to create safe environments for women to be able to share their problems and feel as though they will be heard. This is also the perfect time to celebrate how far we’ve come and everything we have achieved as women. It’s amazing to have an entire day dedicated to celebrating women and overcoming boundaries that once were in place. Sadlergates recognises the bias and is actively working to create an inclusive work environment where women are supported and their unique talents valued.
Women in the workplace
There are many things that can make work difficult for women. Creating a workplace where women can share these problems and receive support is essential for personal growth and maintaining work efficiency. Within my workplace I know that my voice is heard, for example I have flexible working hours if I need to work around intense period cramps. It’s important that other women have this opportunity as well.
Women in the world
Just being a woman in the world has its own set of challenges. The risks of walking alone at night, cat-calling, the pressure to find a partner. We’ve all experienced something similar at some point in our lives and it never gets easier. However, this is not the case at Sadlergates. We strive to create an environment where women are free to share their problems and always receive support. Our marketing executive Celie Townsend shared that she’s always felt encouraged and supported at Sadlergates. Her talents are celebrated and she knows she’s a valued member of the team.
The wonders of being a woman
Despite the challenges of being a woman, there are so many amazing advantages that should be celebrated and at Sadlergates we make sure women are celebrated. We’re lucky to live in a more progressive society where being a woman can be celebrated and shared. Women are standing up against sexism and violence, have more opportunities to love who they want without consequence and freely identify as whatever gender they want.
Breaking the Bias
Break the bias is the theme for IWD 2022. This means not simply accepting that bias exists, but fighting it. Fighting for gender equality, the right for women to be treated as equals, where differences are celebrated and valued. We can do this through educating men on the differences we face, and working together to bring progress and a fairer world for women.
