Reduce Waste Boost Sustainability

In 2022, reducing waste and striving for sustainability is something a lot of businesses are focused on. We are responsible for protecting our planet and every small change can make a huge difference over time. 

 

At Sadlergates one of the main areas we try to be sustainable in is food waste. As a catering business it would be easy to have excess food after making orders, that is thrown away and never used. However, this is exactly what we are avoiding. We only order the exact amount of food we will need for each order, never any more to avoid unnecessary waste. 

Another way we are working towards becoming more sustainable is swapping all of our plastic cutlery for wooden cutlery instead. In England 4.2 billion single-use plastics a year, most of which are thrown away after use. Using wooden cutlery seems like a small change, but in the long run will make a huge difference on lowering the number of single use plastic waste in this country.
