Standing with the community
At the weekend we had the privilege of providing catering for the Roundabout, Sheffield Sleep Out – an event designed to raise funds and awareness of youth homelessness. For a night people were asked to brave the cold winter night, swap their beds for a sleeping bag with a cold hard floor in a warehouse, in order to raise as much in sponsorship as possible.
An insight into the charity – their vision is to make sure that no young person experiences homelessness in South Yorkshire. Roundabout aims to empower young people to break the cycle of homelessness, by helping them develop long term independent living skills and supporting them with their health, education, employment and training needs. They believe that every young person deserves the chance to have a bright future, so they want to support them in their time of need.
Here at Sadlergates we believe in supporting the community to whatever capacity we can – as a company we started to really explore this during the Covid-19 lockdowns when we underwent many challenges and our business came to a sudden halt. During this time we saw a massive need in the community, with people struggling to receive food deliveries, so we wanted to step in and help where we could. At that point we decided to utilise our suppliers and delivery vans and we started food deliveries to those in need. It was incredible to stand with the community and we continue to look at ways we can do this.
